SANDERSON FAMILY WRESTLING CAMP 2010

Story Published Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Next week the Penn State Wrestling coaching staff will be in Utah to take part in the 2010 Sanderson Family Wrestling Camp.  Steve Sanderson, a legendary and former coach of Wasatch High School, has been running this camp for nearly 20 years.  Camp participants have a great history of success with many going on to become state champions, Fargo placewinners and champions, NCAA All-Americans and NCAA Champions.

“It is always great to go home and do a camp. I look forward to my dad’s camp every year.  This is the summer camp I grew up going to and training at.  My dad started running the camp when I was in Jr. High and it is still going strong because he works hard and provides a tremendous opportunity for wrestlers in the region.   There are always excellent wrestlers there that want to learn and train hard, so that makes it fun.  It seems like we have always had a few kids on our team that we saw at this camp and ended up recruiting.  We are always looking for kids that work hard and that will fit in well with our program.   Plus, it’s not bad to get some of my mom’s home cooking either!”    –Cael Sanderson
