It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up again. –Vince Lombardi - Thursday, August 19th, 2010

It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up again.

–Vince Lombardi

If you get knocked down, it will be a lot more effective to get back up by landing ready to recover.  Land like a cat.

Mistakes can be corrected with the correct attitude.  Land ready to fire up. Don’t sit around, feel sorry for yourself and wish you wouldn’t have made the mistake.  Get your head up and get going.

It pays big time to land like a cat if you happen to get taken down.  Part of having the confidence to open up and attack comes from knowing that you can escape if you happen to make a mistake.  If you land like a cat it is much easier to escape right away and get the takedown back.  If your opponent drives you to your hip or butt then spring back to your hands and knees and get and keep those knees wide.   You should never be on your belly for more than a split second.  It’s not that big of a deal if you have the right attitude.  The right attitude is that hustle will make up for mistakes, and one or two takedowns aren’t enough to beat you.  If you allow yourself to go to your belly, plan on being there a while.  Land on your hands and knees so you can bounce right into your escape.  If you go to your belly you not only give up a takedown but you put yourself in terrible position.   The “awe shucks” I got takedown “I should feel sorry for myself” and lay on my belly attitude just makes your mistake more difficult to overcome.    Land like a cat.  This should be a habit and habits are created through consistency and repetition.  Drill it.  When you get taken down when you are drilling land like cat.
