K.I.S.B. – Keep it simple, buddy - Monday, December 21st, 2009 We are traveling back to State College today. We competed in Reno at the Tournament of Champions. Most of the team competed well but we are not satisfied. We are making progress in a lot of areas. We will move forward inch by inch. Progress comes in inches. We have a great opportunity to do some big things this year and establish the foundation for the future of Penn State Wrestling. It is an incredible opportunity for our coaching staff and for each team member. “Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play.” “I want to be remembered as the guy who gave his all whenever he was on the field.” “Never die easy, always die hard.” Walter Payton The great athletes seem to be able to keep things simple. They just play the game and play hard. To be the best you can be you must keep things simple. The average person severely over complicates things. They worry about everything except what is really important. Simply focus on the process. Focus on what you are going to do with your hands and your feet. When you consistently focus on the process, you will find yourself competing in “the zone” more often. And when you find that you aren’t in “the Zone” you have simple directions that will get you back there. Directions like “move your feet.” Don’t be afraid to keep it simple. Most people are, and that fear keeps them from giving themselves a real chance for success. er
