In Germany - Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Hello,

I am in Germany at training camp.  We’re at an Olympic Training Center a little less then two hours outside of Frankfurt.  The facilities are great.  The team is working hard.

The team has been working out at 1p and 7:30p to simulate the world championships.  Varner is feeling really good.  He is ready to go.    Because of the late practice the cafeteria is closed and the team has to do their own thing for food.  Team leader Brian Giffin is doing a fantastic job taking care of the team.   Yesterday he barbequed for the team and today had Pizza Hut for the team after practice.  Pizza Hut is not your typical “week of competition” food but there was plenty of pasta and salad etc.  varner has a whole bag of Undefeated cookies and is not very good at sharing-haha

I am sitting in Varner’s room watching The Office season 5 episodes.  It’s tough to beat the The Office.  There are huge days every year like: my wife’s birthday, Christmas, the NCAA tournament, and the day the new season of  The Office comes out.

The team heads to Denmark on Thursday.  It is almost “go” time!
