First week - Friday, April 24th, 2009

Hello,
Coach Cunningham and I just returned to Ames after spending 3.5 days at Penn State. Coach Cody stayed in Ames to make sure everyone in Ames stayed on track. Our days were busy. The transition will take some time but we are moving. The people and staff at PSU have been especially great. The kids on the team are great and eager to get going. The turn out for the press conference was inspiring. It makes me think that once the team starts challenging for the national title on a continuous basis that it will be difficult to get a seat at a home match. That is exciting. State College is a fun place with forests and excellent fishing just minutes from campus. A.D. Tim Curley has been very helpful. He is very professional, yet very personable. We have had the convenience of using the university plane to get back and for. We are going back next Monday one more time before we make the long haul by car. We thought the plane was going down for a minute when we were landing in State College this week. The cross winds twisted the plane in ways it wasn’t meant to be twisted. Anyway, our first week has gone well. We have a lot of work to do.
