Coach Jackson - Thursday, April 30th, 2009 Congratulations Iowa State and Coach Jackson! As an alumni and someone who wants the best for the program I couldnt be more excited with the hiring of Coach Jackson. I believe he brings all the skills necessary to be a huge success. I have always had tremendous respect for Coach Jackson. He and Coach Douglas were my coaches as I pursued my Olympic goals. I trusted him all the way. Coach Jackson brings great integrity, passion, and knowledge to the position. It is great for college wrestling to have a world class coach jump in the game. I am happy that the current ISU wrestlers have such a quality person to lead them as they attack their goals. My family and I just arrived back from State College tonight. I plan on making the drive to PA early next week to settle down more permanently. We have been cleaning our house like crazy trying to get it ready to sell. I found my Olympic medal the other day which was a relief. I use to hide it in a place I would remember when I would leave town. Needless to say, I couldn’t remember where I hide it last time and haven’t seen it in a year or two. Coach Cunningham sold his house before we even got a sign up in our front yard. He doesnt mess around. We are still in the process of putting our staff together at PSU but are excited to say that Coach Letters, Coach Anspach, and Coach Dernlan will be staying with us, and continuing on, in the hunt for a national championship.
