Camp Season - Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Hello everyone,

Camp season is the busiest time of the year. I have been flying back and forth between PA and IA for camps. i am going back to Ames tomorrow to wrap up our Iowa State Camps. I have one more week in Ames.

I have had many blog ideas the last few weeks but havent had the opportunity to get them done. One i was really excited about was some pet peevs like why do public restrooms have doors that you have to pull open when exiting? it drives me crazy. if only one person doesnt wash their hands then the door handle is affected and everyone leaves with nasty hands, etc, you know important stuff like that.

I always want to talk politics when I am traveling a lot because i listen to the news and my favorite radio stations. i try to avoid those topics the best I can. I do love conservative talk radio. my wife Kelly has Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage on the radio all the time. it gets me fired up. i believe in freedom, responsibility, tough love, hard work, accountability and all of those great things that our great nation was founded on and set up for. i wont get started on politics. it is scary stuff right now how involved the government is getting in private business. just because times are tough and things dont go as planned that doesnt mean we call in the government and change the very structure of what america is all about. bad companies should go away or be picked apart, sold and turned into somethng that can turn a profit. keep it simple. simple works. competition is the answer. crap there i went

My family has been in iowa this past week and I get to see them again tomorrow. can’t wait. my son Tate loves thomas the train and i have a couple trains to bribe his love. two of his favorite trains are the twins Bill and Ben and that’s what i’m bringing home. i’ve doen this a few times for fun but I usually tell them that the trains are dad’s just because he is an only child and i dont want to spoil him too much. not sure if it is working. when i was young my parents bought my bros and I an electric car racing set. my dad bought himself a really cool car and kept it hidden so we couldn’t play with it. that’s not the same thing I guess, but dad, we knew where you hid the car-haha. it wasn’t any faster then the others.

we are having some solid workouts during camp. it has been a lot of fun. things are going really well. the team is working hard. jake varner was in state college this past weekend training. that was cool. and no he is not transfering, just training. it is nice having the state college airport only 5-10 minutes from campus. better get packed and ready to go 6:15a flight.
